DESTINO DEL MES: BOLIVIA

La Laguna Colorada, o 'Laguna Roja', es un lago salado poco profundo conocido por sus tonos rojizos situado en el suroeste del altiplano de Bolivia, dentro de la Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Avaroa.

It spans 6000 hectares, but is less than a metre deep. Folklore suggests the water is actually the blood of the gods, though scientists seem to believe the color comes from the algae and rich minerals in the water.
