DESTINATION OF THE MONTH: Orlando, Florida

The Sunshine state is a peninsula with the longest coastline in the United States located between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore it is considered the 4th largest populated state in the United States. It is a state known to have vacationing weather year round with mild short winters and long warm tropical climates in the summers. This great climate is due to the fact that no part of Florida is distant from the ocean; making our state a perfect paradise to enjoy a refreshment by the Sunny coastal waters under the shadow of palm trees and a cool breeze swinging your hammock back and forth.

Tourism is one of the largest subdivisions of the state’s economy. With so many inviting attractions Florida is definitely a hot spot for tourists within the United States. In fact Orlando, Florida is considered one of the world’s most visited tourist states.

 

Our state is home to many of the world known theme parks for all ages. Orlando, Florida the "Theme Park Capital of the World," has enough attractions to keep any visitor entertained for days. The magical world of Walt Disney is known to be the most famous of the theme parks around the world. This theme park is actually a huge resort complex that contains four theme parks and two water parks. There are many theme parks, however those belonging to the Disney Chain include:

·         Magic Kingdom

·         Epcot

·         Disney’s Hollywood Studios

·         Disney’s Animal Kingdom

·         Two Water Parks:

o   Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

o   Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

 

Disney World is a complete resort with just about anything a resort can offer, such as miles of outdoor recreation activities, shopping, entertainment facilities and much more. Near the Disney World Park visitors are able to visit SeaWorld one of the world's largest marine parks. A place to discover mysteries of the sea interact with sea creatures and go on the rides.  Alongside SeaWorld is Aquatica, the new companion water park with South Seas-themed tropical setting. This small water park contains some rides that are heart racing rides while others you can sit by and enjoy the weather.

Universal Studios theme park is another great park to encounter the ultimate Hollywood experience that goes beyond the screen movies with multi-dimensional thrill rides. It is a park where the behind the scenes come to life with live entertainment. Partnered with Universal Studios is Universal’s Islands of Adventure, the park where you experience an unforgettable adventure of stories, myths, cartoons, comic book heroes and a rush of adrenaline and excitement on rides.

Orlando, Florida is the perfect vacation spot for the whole family. It manages to bring out the child in every single person!
