If you are looking to relax in great weather with temperatures around 60's and 70's, Boquete is the place to go. Located in the northern highlands of Chiriquí province, Boquete is very well known for its flowers, coffee, and exotic birds. You can go by car (it is about a 7 hour drive from Panama City) or by plane to David, and then drive or take a shuttle to Boquete.
The population in Boquete consists of Panamanians, Ngobe Indians, and foreigners from the United States and Europe, who have found this location excellent for living and retiring. Thanks to foreigners and retirees moving to Boquete, it has made possible the construction of many new housing projects around the area.
Boquete is very well known for the Boquete Flower and Coffee Festival, Orchids festival, and the Ecological Fair.
Some activities to participate in include visiting Volcan Baru, horseback riding, river rafting, hiking The “Los Quetzales” trail (for sightings of the elusive quetzal bird), touring coffee estates, golf at Valle Escondido, and visit beautiful gardens.
The coffee there is excellent and very well known internationally, and the restaurants are just great!
